Building Reports

Analyses ready for production.

How it works

Bring everything together in three easy steps

1. Define the dataset

Generate the query that has the data you want.

2. Send data to Excel or Google Sheets

If it's a quick analysis, just send it over into whatever tools you prefer.

3. Interpret the data and add context

Otherwise, simply add important context right alongside your data.

The Narrator difference is speed

Never start from scracth

Most data questions have already been answered in Narrator. Our templates are flexible, thought through, and a great starting point for any analysis.

Large library of existing analyses
Context and interpretation built into each report
Everything is transparent and editable
Ask Narrator anything

Impact analyses

"How does viewing the FAQ page impact likely hood to submit a ticket?"

"How many times do users have to use the product before they become adopted?"

"Which sales people negotiate the best contracts?"

Using the Analyze Button in Narrator's dataset tool to generate a hypothesis test report
Scrolling through Narrator's experiment report

A/B Tests

"Do I have enough data to conclude that this experiment is successful?"

"Whats the conversion rate from lead to sale and how is that changing?"

Encourage more follow-up questions from your team

Data manipulation and pushing to production built in

Stakeholders often have "just one small thing" to request once they receive their reports. Instead of distracting you from your work, we made self-serve super easy for them to handle their follow ups on their own.

Built into the Table
Explore and debug at the same time
Tabs to keep track of anything you find

Add Computation

"Add the % change of the difference between this row and the weekly average"

Using Computed Columns in Narrator's Dataset tool
Adding in the first ever Started Session's Ad Source and Referring Domain columns to a Narrator dataset

Add more data

"Lets add in the first touch ad source."

"Lets add their tenure so we can see if that also matters."

Everything is SQL

"Can you put the dataset you used in dbt so we can put a production model on it?"

Clicking on the SQL tab to show the SQL that we're running under the hood to get the dataset response

Yes, we designed for more flexibility

Can I build my own template?

Yes. You can build templates and share them across your teams to be used to answer many questions.

Can I take data from an analysis and put it in my Jupytr notebook?

Yes. Start with a simple analysis in Narrator and if you find something interesting copy the SQL into Juyptr to run more complex algorithms.

Can I leverage algorithms to help with interpretation?

Yes. We have many algorithms available: bucketing the data, finding the point of greatest impact, understanding trends, checking for statistical significance, and more.
